Pelling, admired with exquisite natural beauty, is a small town in the district of West Sikkim situated at an altitude of 7200 feet from sea level. The grand attraction of the place is the spectacular view of Mount Kanchenjungha and other Eastern Himalayas Mountains. The land around Pelling is still a virgin territory and is bathed with alpine vegetation, with numerous waterfalls lining the hillside. In the months of winter, Pelling is sometimes covered with a blanket of snow.

Apart from the panoramic views of the Himalayas, Pelling is also famed for being the home to some of the oldest Buddhist monasteries in Sikkim like the Sang Da Choeling Monastery. Pelling also forms the base from where trekkers undertake the strenuous and arduous treks in West Sikkim.

There are regular trains like Darjeeling Mail, Knchenjungha Express, Kanchankanya Express, Teesta Torsa and others from Howrah to New Jalpaiguri. Hired cars are available from New Jalpaiguri, Siliguri, Gangtok, Kalimpong, Jorethang and Namchi to Pelling. The nearest airport from Pelling is the Bagdogra airport.
